MILAM Cave
Named for the Alzo Barlett (or Barkley) Milam (1889-1972 [the tombstone is wrong]) family who once owned the land off Dog Walk Rd. Census records list Milam as a resident of Big Spring before moving to Irvington later in life. Alzo's wife was Mary and, per Census Records, had 7 people in his family and a total of 10 in his home. So, according to the Family Members listed in the FindAGrave.com clipping. It appears all of his siblings living in his residence would amount to 10 people. Coincidence?
Through my own research in 2021AUG, I found Alzo's occupation listed as "Lumber". Other records claimed he served in both WWI (in his 30s) and WWII (in his mid-50's). I speculate that if he was in "Lumber", he may have supplied the U.S. government and/or military with materials if, in fact, he did not serve during WWII. Other Milam name's researched included names listed in the household: Ernest (of Cloverport), W.E. and H. Milam. MILAM, ALZO B. of Breckinridge County, Kentucky died 18 August 1972 at age 83 in Breckinridge County, Kentucky, U.S.A. Check the Source file ($0) and Archives.com for ALZO B MILAM |
