GOLD Pit
A 40-60ft pit, unknown to current landowners until I used Lidar to search the private property. At the bottom of a deep ravine, I found a small space behind a boulder in the middle of Winter. I moved fallen leaves, and in doing so, recognized that the ground behind my feet was unstable, so I backed away. Good thing too, as later trip with vertical climbers revealed that one more step forward, and I would have been dead at the bottom of this deep pit. These photos were taken with a DIY rig a designed to hold my cell phone out nearly 20ft into the open void and shoot every angle. Poor, at best, but you get the idea.
