BUNGER Sink
There's a cave under there, I tell ya! In the deed from Willie Young to my great grandfather Sam J. Bunger, there was an addendum talking about a "perpetual deed to keep this hole open and unobstructed from limbs, logs, and other debris. The hole was an entirely different animal when I was a boy. Later, when our conservation waterways were designed, this area was graded, leveled, and the hole that was rife with many gullies feeding it, was covered. You can see how the ground slumped in the picture on the first row. I have currently hand-dug to the depth of 22 feet, finding the karst shelf beneath an old concrete pipe that was sitting atop an old metal tractor rim.
