JACKHAMMER Hole
This hole was filled with old cattle fencing that had been rolled up adn smashed flat. It was still solid, though there was a tremendous amount of iron oxide remaining after all fencing was removed with assistance from a hydraulic grapple on our tractor's front-end loader, as well as some fill rock removed by our excavator.
The hole drains the entire 200-acre slope to the North. Once all debris was removed, exposing a horizontal slit runing NNE and water descending into a void yet opened, I havewitnessed Ghost Crayfish rising up from that yet to be found subterranean waters. We have high hopes for opening a passage to a cave, thus the name Jackhammer, which I used to get as far as you see.
